Dr. Evelyn Lee is an active member of the Music Teachers' National Association (MTNA), the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT), and the Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC). She also serves as the advisor to the MTNA Riverside City College Collegiate Chapter.
Her students have participated in the MTAC Certificate of Merit and the ABRSM examinations, with every student passing and many placing in high distinction.
Dr. Lee presented at various state and national conferences including the San Jose CAPMT Conference from 2019-2021, the Florida State Conference in 2020, and the MTNA National Symposium in 2021 and 2022. Her most recent presentation in collaboration with pianists Dr. Eloise Kim and DMA Candidate Tracy Wong, "Navigating the Pandemic World as Music Educators: Strategies for Hybrid Teaching," was selected to be included in the most recent CAPMT State Conference in Fresno, California, and also the MTNA National Symposium in January 2022.
She previously served as an instructor for various levels of Keyboard Skills courses at USC and offered private instruction through the university. She has worked with music majors in other disciplines such as voice, strings, winds, composition, music production, and also with non-music majors studying piano as an elective.
Dr. Lee is on the teaching faculty at California Baptist University and coaches instrumentalists and singers at Riverside City College. In addition, she also maintains a private studio in Riverside, California. She teaches students of all ages and backgrounds, including advanced students, complete beginners, and students who have played piano in the past and wish to pick up again.
